The kids above, the driver below. |
The victims are Chinemere Anusiem (5), Okechukwu Anusiem (4) and Nzube Anusiem (2), all children of Mr. and Mrs. Iheomadinihu. The kids were found in Makurdi, Benue State and their father, in company with some policemen, went to pick them up.
Asked what the fate of the driver is, the source said he and some
individuals believed to be members of his gang were also arrested.
It was not clear as at the time of filing this report what befell the couple’s new vehicle used in the kidnap.
Attempts to get police confirmation did not yield fruit as at the time of filing this report.
Our correspondent called the mobile phone of the FCT police
spokesman, Mashood Jimoh, and sent a text message but the police
spokesman did not respond.
The driver, whose name was given as Godwin Tikia, had until his
arrest, worked as a driver in his employer’s household for about three
months.
The driver is said to be from Benue State.
His last known permanent home address was an area located around Ogli’oko Secondary School, North Bank, Makurdi.
He was said to have picked up the children as he had done for the
three months he had been in the employ of the family. Only this time, he
did so in the family’s new Lemon gray coloured Toyota Avensis car which
had no number plate.
Thank God for the kids and their families. Hope the wicked driver spends the rest of his days behind bars!
