I heard its linked to that senator they arrested.
My sister was on that flight, why are Nigerians security being so stupid, always shady with everything
Thids is very careless how did the person scale all security check? This is nonesence..... Securities in the airport waste our time looking for liquied nd razor blade and tags neglecting many things that can cause us our lives. Why do we have to be like this? Am sick and tired!
That woman Stella Oduah said it's not true. She must be part of them.
May God save this country since they are now in the air.
The guy might have given N100 to the security agents checking
There is no security in nigeria, cos the second name to security is corruption. Those at the check point that are on duty should be hold as a suspect too,cos how can a passenger having bomb on his body was not been dictected by those fool.Am happy for those on board, its only GOD that safe them from the unexpected dealth.
Qucik to deny, why is NIgeria like this?
Of course we are no fools!!! I was at the airport when the story was going round. We know the implications of such action; in Nigeria, its money first, and our dear Arik would not want to loose out at this time that they are the key flight. Thus the denial... I'm not surprised at all. We can only move forward as a Nation whenever we decide to shun corruption, dishonesty and greed!!!
ARIK Reacts. There is no iota of truth in the rumour making the rounds that a passenger attempted to bomb an Arik Air aircraft operating a flight from Maiduguri to Abuja today, Tuesday, October 23, 2012.
To set the records straight, a passenger on board flight W3 812 from Maiduguri to Abuja caused a scare when he started shouting Allah Akbar shortly before the aircraft landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. The frightened passengers on board the flight became suspicious thinking the man was about to do something sinister.
All the passengers on board the flight, including the man in question, had all gone through the normal security check at the Maiduguri International Airport and nothing incriminating was found on anyone.
However, when the aircraft landed in Abuja, another security check was conducted on the passenger and nothing incriminating was found on him. A further security search was conducted on the operating aircraft, a Boeing 737-700 NG (Next Generation) and no trace of bomb or explosives were found. The aircraft went back to service immediately.
Arik Air wishes to assure guests that all its flights undergo strict security checks and passengers have nothing to fear. The airline’s Aviation Security Department is one the most sophisticated in the industry and its commitment to security and safety of passengers is second to none in Africa.
The airline just last weekend in Accra, Ghana won the award of the Best Security and Safety Conscious Airline in West and Central Africa.
