On meeting President Obama, Orondaam wrote:
Thank you President @BarackObama for this honor. 8 years ago I wrote down a goal that I was going to meet you before you leave office. I didn’t know how but I’m glad that word didn’t only come to pass, but it did in a greater way. I believe we will meet many more times in the coming years.
I thank everyone who have been part of this journey. We still have a long way to go and I deeply appreciate your love, support and encouragement. I really don’t know the path so well but somehow you also provide direction.
More details when you continue….
I have learnt not only to dream at night, and serve not only in day time.
Quite sad that we have to say goodbye to so many amazing friends we’ve made. But I’m sure that our future remains connected… #LoveYouAll ????❤? #ThankGod #WeMet #LetsDoMore
Meeting President #Obama and sitting in front of him for over two hours took me from a place of excitement to one of reflection.
I asked myself, is this President Obama!!!
His personality goes beyond being the President of the United States. His presence inspires and his charisma exudes elegance. His words left us more challenged than I could imagine. He exhibited 3 unconscious acts of service/ humility and I could see why .
I could see that he was just another man just as simple as we all are.
Thank you for inspiring us and happy birthday to you????
As the doors opened and we began walking through the long corridors of #CapitolHill to the office of Congress Woman Wilson I told myself, don’t stop speaking positive things about yourself, your friends, family and your nation. I remember few years ago, this was one of my goals. #Believe
It just reminded me that when God takes us through a journey, most times our ignorance and uncertainty of where he’s leading us to makes us look stupid to others.
But if we remain humble to feel stupid and just follow His direction, we can be assured that His desitnation will always be the best we could have ever imagined.
Amazing day spent with Dr Danladi, one of the young Nigerian MandelaWashington Fellows who’s really inspired me. Maybe more than many others. I’ll share his amazing story someday. I promise you to be dumfounded..
Otto Orondaam also received a civic leadership certificate from Rotarian Action Group for Peace and the Executive Director of the Institute of World Affairs Office of the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East, representing and working with the Institute of World Affairs headquarters in Washington DC
What an honor to receive my Civic Leadership Certificate from Professor Harry Anastasiou. He’s been such a vital voice globally in promoting peace.
Professor Anastasiou is the Director of the Rotarian Action Group for Peace and the Executive Director of the Institute of World Affairs Office of the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East, representing and working with the Institute of World Affairs headquarters in Washington DC.
