#24 – Pompeii, Italy

Pompeii became a popular tourist destination thanks to its tragic history and numerous appearances on film. However, the way movies shows how Pompeii looks like isn’t what it looks like in real life.

 

 

There are a couple of reasons why you should avoid Pompeii, however, the main reason is constant crowdedness. Also, Pompeii is always under reconstruction and there’s actually nothing much to see in Pompeii beside ruins. A better alternative to Pompeii is Herculaneum, a city that survived a volcano eruption and that’s much better preserved than Pompeii.
