‘IG Of Police Can Be Jailed If He Fails To Release Dino Melaye’s Passport’ – Ekweremadu [Watch Video]

Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu has said that the Inspector General of Police, Idris Kpotum can be jailed for refusing to release the International Passport of Senator Dino Melaye.

A Few months back, Senator Dino Melaye appealed to Senators to come to his aid over the seizure of his passport. He has called on the Nigeria Police Force to release his passport as ordered by a Magistrate’s Court in the Federal Capital Territory.

Melaye said he asked his lawyer, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), to collect the passport on his behalf as he no longer felt safe with the police.

Ekweremadu, in a recent interview with Oak TV, said that the IG risks jail if he fails to obey a court order for the release of the Senator’s passport.
