Jonathan Conceded Defeat To Buhari To Avoid Ruling During Recession – Babatunde Fashola

When the former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan conceded defeat to the incumbent Muhammadu Buhari, he was hailed and applauded by the world for being a peace lover and accepting his loss. But a Federal minister Babatunde Fashola thinks he conceded defect to avoid ruling Nigeria during an economic recession.

The Federal minister Babatunde Fashola reportedly thinks so in a report published today by the Premium Times News during a meeting organized by the Minister for Information, Lai Mohammed, at the Emeritus Professor Theophilus Ogunlesi Hall in Ibadan.

The Premium Times News confirms this in the report published today. The minister blames the Jonathan administration for the debts inherited by his team. Fashola in the report said:

”What was left behind were massive debts owed to contractors who had not been paid for three to five years and who had laid off thousands of workers and shut down equipment and plants.

”That was one of the reasons why the economy first went into, and, I suspect, one of the reasons they (Goodluck administration) quickly conceded defeat,”

A few of months back, the Former Governor of Cross River State and Social Democratic Party (SPD) presidential candidate, Donald Duke said Nigeria slip into recession because President Buhari did not know what he’s doing.
