Libyan Team Coach Who Accused Super Eagles Of Using ‘Juju’, Quits Ahead Of Match With Nigeria

After going six months without being paid salary, Adel Amrouche has quit his job as the head coach of the Libyan team ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria on Saturday.

Amrouche replaced Omar Al-Maryami’s in May and according to Alwasat.ly, a Libyan online news outlet, Al-Maryami will lead the Mediterranean Knights against the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Uyo.

Al-Maryami has already taken charge of the team’s training in Tunisia following the sudden exit of Amrouche.

Libya top Group E with four points, while South Africa are second and Nigeria lie third.

A few months back, Amrouche was blasted after saying Super Eagles team rely on voodoo to win games, while his team relies on God. His word was:

“Believe me I prefer to play Nigeria than South Africa because I have the experience to play against them. South Africa is a fantastic team and have fantastic players and it’s not easy to play against them.

“For me, I’m ready for Nigeria; if they want we can play both games in Nigeria; they believe in juju and we believe in God,” Amrouche said.
