The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar was welcomed warmly by US officials into Trump International Hotel in Washington D.C.
This is coming shortly after Atiku arrived the US, ending a 12-year deprivation of visa to a country in which he once lived and owned properties. He arrived with the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and other Nigerian dignitaries. (Read the report HERE).
Atiku said he planned to meet with United States government officials and Nigerians living in Washington DC area as well as the business community.
The PDP presidential candidate has already begun a meeting with congressmen in Washington DC.
He reportedly scheduled to speak at the Chamber of Commerce today, from 2:30 pm to 4 pm local time.
The private roundtable, to be hosted by the US Chamber of Commerce and the US Africa Business Centre, is reportedly going to hold at 1615 H Street, NW 20062.
Atiku will reportedly return to Nigeria on Saturday.
