Due to the rise in theft of women panties, the Nigeria Police has declared that anyone caught stealing pants will not be charged for stealing but attempted murder.
In recent months, there has been a spate of theft of underpants rumored to be used ritual purposes that have led to the death of the owners of the undergarments.
Two weeks ago, we did a report on the experiences shared by some ladies as regard to the high rate of pant theft in some part of the country. Most of the ladies said they have even stopped wearing their underwears in a bid to safeguard themselves against danger. (Read the report HERE).
Reacting to the development, Dolapo Badmos, the police spokesperson for Zone 2 command, confirmed that most of the thieves caught stealing panties confessed that they’re using it for ritual purposes which will lead to the premature death of the owner.
She noted that ritualists often send out errand boys and girls, who help get the panties. Female agents are also used to collect male underwears from men after sex.
According to Badmos via her Instagram page, such will henceforth be treated as serious cases while those apprehended will be charged for attempted murder. what she posted on Instagram reads:
“What is the in thing about increase in stealing of underpants?! Learnt the ones caught in the act always confess to be using it for rituals whereof the owner dies prematurely…. Henceforth anyone caught stealing pants might not be charged for stealing but attempted murder. This has to stop.”
