The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has slammed President Muhammadu Buhari over the killings that are happening in his administration.
While speaking during the PDP’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, Secondus asked President Buhari why he like shedding blood, knowing fully well he ain’t God.
The opposition chairman was reacting to the president’s controversial statement during the All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus meeting on Monday about directing security operatives to be “ruthless” in dealing with ballot box snatchers who attempt to disrupt the election. Buhari said:
”Anybody who decides to snatch boxes or lead thugs to disturb the election, maybe that would be the last unlawful action you would take. I have given the military and police the order to be ruthless.
”I am going to warn anybody who thinks he would lead a body of thugs in his locality to snatch boxes or to disturb the voting system; he would do it at the expense of his/her own life.”
in reaction, Secondus called Buhari’s comment a “death sentence on all voters of Nigeria,” adding that the president does not care about protecting the lives of Nigerians as long as he holds on to power. He said:
“Nigerians are tired of President Buhari. And of a truth, over three years, killings and killings and now you have ordered that more people should be killed.
“Why do you like blood? I want to ask Buhari, ‘Why do you like blood?’
“Why do you want to kill your countrymen and women. For the sake of election? That you must be a president? You know you are not God. Buhari, I’m addressing you, you know you are not God.
“All your actions in the last three years are against the people of Nigeria: hunger, killings, unemployment; you are not sensitive to it.”
