A morgue in Kenya experienced a mild drama after four women fought over the body of a man they each claimed was their husband.
The three of the ladies who came to claim the body of the deceased are identified as Janet Wambui, Lydia Wanjiru, Susan Wakuthii; the fourth is yet to be identified.
The deceased, Peter Mwangi Gichobu, a Taxi driver a.k.a boda boda rider, reportedly died in an accident which occurred at Nyangati-Embu road a month ago.
Things turned chaotic after the four failed to agree who among them would receive a burial permit for the deceased.
The four women fought over the dead body that they had to be separated by police offcers who intervened in the matter.
The funeral home’s management decided to only allow the deceased’s immediate family member to sign for the collection of the remains.
The four allowed the deceased’s uncle, Stanley Ngigi, to bury him at his home in Ngomongo Village in Kirinyaga Central sub-County.
This was after the deceased’s family promised to include them in the sharing of his wealth.
Gichobi’s body was buried on Wednesday afternoon with each of the four women, who had at least one son with the deceased, attending.
Gichobi was not living with any of the four ladies at the time of his passing.
