A former Minister of Education and Youth Development, Professor Ben Nwabueze (SAN) has announced himself as the leader of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s legal team.
The renowned lawyer made a brief appearance on Thursday morning before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) in Abuja, to make the announcement.
88-year-old Prof Nwabueze was brought in on a wheelchair into the Tribunal.

In announcing his appearance, Prof Nwabueze the constitutional lawyer prayed the court to allow him to address them sitting down as he is unable to stand for too long owing to his age.
He later read a prepared speech before the commencement of proceedings and took his leave about 30 minutes later.
The Senior Advocate told the Tribunal that his appearance was to underscore the importance of the case for the nation’s democratic development.
