Hon. Adiele Ekeke, a Commissioner in Abia State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (ASOPADEC) has lost his two children who died alongside his wife in an accident which occurred along Enugu-Okigwe express road.
The lady and her two children were reported to have been traveling along the Enugu – Port Harcourt Road on Sunday August 11, when their vehicle got involved in a ghastly accident that claimed their lives. Luckily, the third child survived the accident but is currently in intensive care where doctors are battling to save her life.
Confirming the death of his wife and two kids, Hon. Ekeke said; “Its too hard to believe, but it did happened. We’re on our way to Ohanku to bury my 2 children, my only son and first daughter. Their mother is still in mortuary”
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, Mr. Onyebuchi Ememanka, stated the state government was shocked to hear of the sad development.
“Governor Ikpeazu is deeply saddened by this tragedy and prays the Almighty God, the great comforter to console Hon. Ekeke and grant him the fortitude to bear this great loss.
“The Governor also prayed the good Lord to intervene and save the life of the third surviving child who is battling with her life presently under the intensive care of the medical personnel.
“The Abia helmsman, therefore, sent his personal condolences and that of his family, government and people of Abia State to the larger Ekeke family of Ndoki, the entire people of Ukwa East LGA, the management and staff of ASOPADEC over this sad incident.”
