A former Nigerian presidential aspirant, Senator Adamu Garba has called on all Nigerian women to be married, saying the title of ‘wife’ is more important than being a governor of Central Bank Of Nigeria (CBN).
A few days ago, the former senator said he’s a proud polygamist and he’s looking to add more wives to the two he has already.
His statement earned him criticisms and he was vigorously dragged on social media by Nigerians.
Refusing to back down, Adamu Garba took to his Twitter page to inform women that it’s a greater achievement to be a wife than to become a female CBN governor.
“I don’t know why my stand on polygamy became a source of concern, particularly to unmarried ones. You are missing a golden opportunity from my admonition….ladies. Let me tell you, having a title of a WIFE is more important to you that even becoming a female CBN governor,” he wrote.
Adamu Garba went on to call on all Nigerian women to get married, noting that Feminism is a waste of time. He wrote:
“Feminism is a waste of time. Once a woman, you are already a feminine by nature. Why do you need additional ism? Any ism is extreme, extreme femininity is extremism. God forbid Nigerian woman from the menace of extremism called feminism. Nigerianize women should all be married.”
This is coming just few days after Kano lawmaker, Alhassan Ado Daguwa proudly showed off his four wives to his fellow senators at the Red Chamber during plenary.
While introducing his wives during plenary session, Ado Daguwa revealed that he has 27 children, with intentions of having more babies.
