Juventus Defender, Daniele Rugani Test Positive For Coronavirus As Ronaldo Escape To Madeira 3

Italy is the worst-hit nation outside of China for the coronavirus outbreak. So much so that the Serie A football league had to be suspended.

Juventus confirmed that defender, Daniele Rugani, has tested positive for coronavirus, making him the first star from the Italian top flight to have contracted the virus.

In a statement on Wednesday, the club said they will implement the necessary isolation procedures for all individuals who had come into contact with the 25-year-old.

The statement reads: “The footballer Daniele Rugani has tested positive for Coronavirus-COVID-19 and is currently asymptomatic.”

“Juventus Football Club is currently activating all the isolation procedures required by law. Including the census of those who have had contact with him.

“It can be assumed that the vast majority of the team, who have been in contact with Rugani will now undergo a period of quarantine.”

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo, his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez, and all four of his children, has had enough and fled Italy.

Juventus confirmed that Ronaldo had fled to his home town of Funchal in the province of Madeira in his native Portugal.

A statement on the club’s official website also clarified his trip was due to the ongoing health issues surrounding the country.

“Cristiano Ronaldo has not trained. He remains in Madeira pending developments related to the current health emergency,” the statement reads.

The fotball star feels that the quaint town will enable him to provide his family with a safe sanctuary from ongoing coronavirus pandemic in Italy.
