Katsina Man Kills 14-Year-Old Girlfriend By Smashing Her Head With Stone Because Of Her Pregnancy

Katsina State Police Command has arrested a 27-year-old man, Shafi’u Haruna, who allegedly killed his 14-year old girlfriend, Hamsiya Lawal, over pregnancy issues in the Dorawar Natiba area of Birdigau village, Kankara Local Government Area of the state.

The spokesman for the command, SP Gambo Isah, said the suspect allegedly killed his girlfriend sometimes in December, 2019, over dispute on the ownership of pregnancy and fled.

He was, however, arrested on March 3, 2020, following a tip off received by the police in the area.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed that he took the girl into the bush, strangled and smashed her brain with heavy stone killing her instantly.

Isah further stated that investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

In other news, a serving NYSC member has been arrested for allegedly raping a female student in the secondary school where was posted for his assignment in Katsina state.
