The Federal Government of Nigeria has launched a manhunt for a Lebanese national identified as Wael Jerro, who offered to sell a Nigerian woman for $1,000 on Facebook.
KanyiDaily had reported that Jerro placed a $1,000 price tag on a Nigerian woman identified as Busari Peace Ufuoma, in a closed group on Facebook ‘Buy and Sell in Lebanon’.
Sharing the international passport of the Nigerian woman who was born on May 19, 1988, in the closed Facebook group, the Lebanese man reportedly wrote:
“Domestic worker from Nigeria for sale with new legal documents. She’s 30 years old, she’s very active and very clean. Price: 1000$??

The issue was brought to public knowledge by Renee Abisaad, who first shared the news on her Instagram page, and subsequently reported the matter to the Nigerian embassy.
Reacting on her Twitter page, the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa said a manhunt has begun for the Lebanese man and the Nigerian woman.
“The Nigerian mission in Lebanon has since reported to the host authorities. A manhunt is on for the man and all-out search for the young girl. Let’s keep her in our prayer,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, a young Nigerian lady who identified herself as Omolola Ajayi, has cried out for help in a video that has gone viral, claiming she was allegedly sold into slavery in Lebanon by a close family friend.
