The Federal Government has demanded urgent action from Ghana over the demolition on Nigerian High Commission in Accra.
KanyiDaily had reported how some armed men invaded the commission in Accra, demolishing some portion of the staff quarters under construction.
Reacting on his Twitter page on Sunday, the minister of foreign affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama condemned the attack and demanded that those responsible for the incident must be brought to book immediately.
The minister said the federal government is currently engaging with the Ghanaian authorities over the incident.
“We strongly condemn two outrageous criminal attacks in Accra, #Ghana, on a residential building in our diplomatic premises by unknown persons in which a bulldozer was used to demolish the building,” the tweet read.
“We are engaging the Ghanaian Government and demand urgent action to find the perpetrators and provide adequate protection for Nigerians and their property in Ghana.”
The development comes five months after Olusola Ojemane Orevba, Nigerian Ambassador to Democratic Republic of Congo was evicted from his residence in Kinshasa.
