A Nigerian man identified as Hugo Abuudo has taken to social media to raise an alarm that DNA/paternity test is destroying a lot of marriages.
On his Facebook page, the man opined that it is not cultural for Igbo people to conduct DNA on their children as any child born in a marriage belongs to the man.
Abuudo asked that men stop “contesting” the paternity of the children born by their wives, when their own paternity is in doubt.
“In Igbo customs and culture, every child born by a wife in a marriage automatically belongs to her husband.
“There is no contesting it. DNA/paternity test is out to destroy the marriage institution as we know it.
“Most of our fathers, grandfathers and great grandfathers were not actually the biological children of their fathers.
“So sometimes I ask, what do you want to do with a paternity test when your own paternity is in doubt?,” he asked.
This is coming on the heel of a young man identified Chris Ndukwe, 39, who murdered his 25-year-old wife, Olamide Alli, in the most gruesome way and then killed himself after finding out the paternity of his children.
