Police Invites Dbanj For Questioning Over Rαpe Allegation Against Him By Seyitan Babatayo

Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has invited musician, D’banj for interrogation over the rape allegation levelled against him Seyitan Babatayo.

KanyiDaily recalls that on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, Seyitan narrated how Dbanj raped her during an all-white party in 2018, at Glee hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos State.

The 50-year-old singer has since then denied the rape allegations and asked his accuser to make a public apology published in four national dailies and also pay him the sum of N100 million in damages.

A fresh report by PUNCH indicates the singer has been grilled by an Assistant Commissioner of Police, Adaku Anya, at the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Garki, Abuja.

The publication disclosed that a statement was also taken from Dbanj, who insisted that he never raped his accuser, Seyitan Babatayo.

It was learnt that Seyitan was also invited to write a statement, but she stated that she had no means of travelling to Abuja and opted to visit a police unit in Lagos.

“Seyitan pleaded with us that she had no means of travelling down to Abuja. So, she has been given the option of reporting at the FCID Annex, Alagbon, Ikoyi,” the officer said.

This is coming barely two days after Seyitan filled a filed a criminal complaint against Dbanj, saying the entertainer kidnapped and threatened her.
