#JusticeForIzu: Young Nigerian Man Allegedly Commits Suicide After Being Falsely Accused Of Rαpe
A young Nigerian named Izu Madubueze (@Legend_Izu on Twitter) has allegedly committed suicide after being falsely accused of rape by a Twitter influencer identified as Nanichi Anese.
According to reports, Nani had compiled of a list of those she claimed are sex offenders, including Izu’s name, and posted it on Twitter.
Izu reached out to Nani and asked to know who he raped but she didn’t have a good answer, instead she claimed the accuser wanted to remain anonymous. She later said the alleged victim said it was a “non physical sexual assault”.
Izu tried many times to get her remove his name from the list because he was innocent, but Nani who was not cooperative, blocked him instead.
The young man later left a note apologizing though he stated that he doesn’t know what he did or who he hurt that led to him being accused.
Izu couldn’t handle backlash from the false rape accusation. He eventually committed suicide and Nani has deactivated her account after Izu’s suicide was made public.
His last tweet was on Friday, July 17, 2020, and it reads: “Oh and if you’re reading this, I’m dead lol.”
Older chats from Izu’s phone allegedly shows that Nani had asked him out before but he declined, meaning that Nani accused Izu of rape simply because he rejected her advances to initiate a relationship.
#JusticeForIzu is currently trending on Twitter as Nigerians are demanding Justice for Izu.

In our bid to stand against rape, we have empowered lunatics on Twitter. They know that mentioning any man's name alongside RAPE is enough to destroy him and they're capitalizing.
They have driven a young man to his death for "nonphysical sexual assault." #JusticeforIZU pic.twitter.com/CPqTsqCwxL

Every false rape accuser must face the same penalty as an actual rapist! Rape accusation has now become a weapon in the hands of toxic people just to get back at someone. If a rapist gets a death penalty, a false accuser gets the same. Balance it up! #JusticeforIZU

The story behind #JusticeforIZU Is a sad one and still hammers what I've been saying. It's important to listen to both sides of a story. An allegation aint enough proof. Of course some ladies don't agree with me but it's true. False rape allegations are real and a crime. #ysmang pic.twitter.com/qyhEdyjIRH

Teach women to stop weaponising rape.
Teach women that It's ok to be rejected by men.
Teach women to respect the choices of men when it comes to who they date. It's almost impossible to fight accusations once they've been made, and today we saw its dark side. #JusticeForIzu
