The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 304 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infection in the country to 43,841.
The NCDC made this known on Sunday night via its Twitter page, where it revealed that the new cases were recorded in fourteen states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The states with new Covid-19 infections include Lagos-81; FCT-39; Abia-31; Kaduna-24; Rivers-23; Plateau-16; Cross River-13; Ebonyi and Ondo-12 each; Ekiti and Edo-11 each; Benue and Nasarawa-10 each; Ogun-6 and Gombe-5.
The health centre further revealed that a total of 20,308 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the infection, while the national death toll has risen to 888.
“On the 2nd of August 2020, 304 new confirmed cases and 5 deaths were recorded in Nigeria, NCDC said.
“The 304 new cases are reported from 15 states; Lagos-81, FCT-39, Abia-31, Kaduna-24, Rivers-23, Plateau-16, Cross River-13, Ebonyi-12, Ondo-12, Ekiti-11, Edo-11, Benue-10, Nasarawa-10, Ogun-6, Gombe-5.
“Till date, 43841 cases have been confirmed, 20308 cases have been discharged and 888 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.”
