“We Are Not Angels” – EFCC Confirms Corruption Among Officers, Begs Nigerians For Help

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has admitted that some of its officials are corrupt and called on Nigerians to expose bad eggs in the commission.

The newly appointed EFCC Zonal head in Lagos, Abdulrasheed Bawa, stated this while responding to questions on TVC, on Wednesday, August 19, 2020.

He urged Nigerians to help identify corrupt officials of the anti-graft agency, promising that the corrupt officials would be prosecuted

“Certainly, we are not angels. There are some bad elements within the system. But we charge them to court whenever they are caught.

“We need Nigerians to help us call out any corrupt EFCC official they come across,” Bawa said.

This is coming at a time the former acting EFCC chairman, Ibrahim Magu, is being investigated over alleged corrupt practices, misappropriation of funds and assets.
