Governor Sanwo-Olu Announces Relaxation Of Curfew From 8am To 6pm In Lagos State

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced the relaxation of the curfew it imposed on residents of the state due to violent attack perpetrated by hoodlums under the guise of the #EndSARS protest.

KanyiDaily recalls that Governor Sanwo-Olu had imposed 24-hour curfew in Lagos on Tuesday, lamenting that criminal elements are hiding behind the peaceful protest to unleash terror in the state.

However, during a televised press briefing on Friday, the governor said the 24-hour curfew will be eased on Saturday but movement would only be allowed between 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.

“We have decided that we are going to be easing the curfew from tomorrow (Saturday) morning; and what that easing means is that people will be allowed to go out from 8am to 6pm.

“For emphasis, from 8am tomorrow morning, you will be allowed to go out, to go wherever you wish till 6pm in the evening.”

The governor urged youths in the state to stop the #EndSARS protest and also asked people who are still using social media to instigate and incite citizens to desist.

“We need to continue to talk to ourselves. Everywhere I went today, people say they want peace, we all want peace, we can not continue to lose our population and our monuments and infrastructure,” he added.

Before the curfew on Tuesday, Suspected hoodlums burnt down the police station situated in Orile-Iganmu Local Government Area of Lagos State.

KanyiDaily had also reported how the ongoing #EndSARS protest was disrupted this morning by as armed thugs and cultists in Ketu, Lagos State.
