Popular Nigerian singer, Wizkid, and the special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on social media, Lauretta Onochie has engaged in a heated war of words on social media.
KanyiDaily recalls on Monday, Wizkid had slammed President Buhari on Twitter for responding quickly to United States President, Donald Trump’s health issues, and remaining unconcerned about security issues in Nigeria.
Wizkid tweeted: “Donald Trump is not your business! Old man! Police/Sarz still killing Nigerian youth on a daily! Do something! Nothing concern u for America! Face your country!!”
The singer was speaking on the back of renewed protests against the Special Anti-robbery Squad (SARS) after a viral video showed a young man allegedly gunned down by operatives of the police unit in Delta State.
Reacting on her Twitter page on Tuesday, Lauretta Onochie called Wizkid a ‘dumbkid’, who exhibited crass ignorance and childishness with the way he addressed the president as an ‘old man’.
“Its not disrespectful to call anyone old. Its the way and manner Ayo Balogun addressed the President that leaves a sour taste in the mouth. He exhibited crass ignorance, insensitivity and childishness. But hey, he’s a #DumbkidNotWhizKid. When he grows up, he might learn respect,” she wrote.
In a swift reply, Wizkid slammed Onochie for making such utterance about age, saying she should be ashamed of herself as a woman and mother who condones the killing of young kids by SARS operatives.
The singer also wondered why the media aide would resort into name-calling when he was only demanding for a better governance in his country.
“lol a 77-year-old man is not young ma.. You are a woman and a mother and kids are getting killed by police/sars and this is all you have to say? shame on you!!! shame on you!! I am a father and age has nothing to do with demanding for a better governance in my country!!,” he wrote.
