37 year old man push girlfriend 23 from 5 storey building in Onitsha – PHOTOS

A 37-year-old man allegedly pushed his girlfriend from a five storey building in Awada, Onitsha in Anambra state.

The young girl was rushed to the hospital for treatment but was confirmed dead on arrival

Below is the report written by CSP Haruna Mohammed, the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command.

On 23/1/2021 at about 6:30am,there was a report at Awada police Station that on the same day at about 3am, a girl of about 23years old whose name and address is yet unknown fell down from the 5th floor of a five storey building at N0.6 Orakwe close, Awada, Obosi in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State.

Police operatives attached to Awada Division visited the scene,photographed the victim and rushed her to Bex hospital Onitsha for medical attention but was certified dead on arrival by a medical doctor.

Consequently, preliminary inquiry from the occupants of the compound revealed that the girl was allegedly pushed down from the room of one Nonso Eze ‘m’ aged 37years of same address who is occupying the 5th floor following a quarrel. Suspect was subsequently arrested and search executed in his appartment where a pair of female slippers and unused condom was recovered as exhibits.

Meanwhile, corpse was deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy while investigation is ongoing to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident after which suspect will be brought to book.

Meanwhile, many people were burnt beyond recognition last night when a gas plant exploded in Agbor, Delta State. 

The incident happened when a gas plant belonging to Osadebe Oil and Gas Company along the Lagos/Asaba Expressway went up in flames.

The cause of the fire is still unknown but sources said firefighters were able to put off the fire which had already claimed lives and property of persons living around the gas plant.
