A Kenyan Pastor, John Gichini, has been sentenced to 140 years imprisonment after he sexually abused his two daughters and got one pregnant.
The 51-year-old was sentenced by a Baricho court in Kirinyaga, Kenya on Thursday, January 14.
According to Nairobi News report, the pastor agreed that between June 2019 and August 2020, he sexually abused his daughters aged 14 and 16 years, one of the girls gave birth to a baby girl who is now seven months old.
Senior Principal Magistrate, Anthony Mwicigi, who presides over the case said:
“The accused abused his position as a father and ruined his daughters’ lives. It is a disgrace and taboo and the he deserves a long jail term,”
“The fear of the Lord prolongs days but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.”
The accused plead guilty and beg for forgiveness, said he was led by the devil.
“The devil reigning on earth and making people to sin. I sinned, but I’m remorseful and I will be very happy if pardoned. It was my first time to commit such a crime in my life,” Gichini told the Magistrate.
The convict disappeared when he learned that police were looking for him. He had been on the run since last December but was later arrested in Mbeere, South Africa on Sunday and taken to Sagana police station.
