NBC Bans Ric Hassani’s New Song “Thunder Fire You”, Fines Radio Stations Playing It
Nigerian singer, Ric Hassani has revealed that the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has banned “Thunder Fire You”, a track off his newly-released album titled ‘The Prince I Became’.

Hassani, who disclosed this on his Twitter page on Friday, said the commission are also fining radio stations that are airing the song.
“So, the NBC has banned my song ‘Thunder Fire You’ and are fining radio stations that play it. Interesting,” he wrote.

Although he didn’t provide details on the circumstances that led to the ban, it is likely the song was banned for the use of certain words that is perceived as hate speech.
Some lyrics from the breakup song are “Thunder fire you for when you cheated on me”, “E no go better for you”.
