If My Son Is Kidnapped, I’ll Pray For Him To Make Heaven, Not Pay Ransom – Governor El-Rufai

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai said if his son falls victim of abduction, he will rather pray for him to make heaven than pay any ransom.

The governor, who stated this on Friday during a radio interview in Kaduna, kicked against negotiations with bandits terrorizing the nation.

He said he has warned his family members to be careful and avoid being abducted, stressing that he made it clear to them that he would never pay ransom for their freedom, should any of them be kidnapped.

“I mean it, and I will say it again, here. Even if my son is kidnapped, I will rather pray for him to make heaven instead, because I won’t pay any ransom,” he said.

El-Rufai was reacting to question on whether his administration is considering paying ransom to secure the release of the students abducted by bandits from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Kaduna in March 11.

According to him, his government is “absolutely not paying ransom” but considering other means to ensure the students are returned to their parents.

KanyiDaily recalls that Governor El-Rufai said bandits terrorising Nigeria have lost their rights to life under the constitution and must be wiped out.
