Gunmen Abducts Seven Naval Officers Travelling Along Sapele-Warri Road In Edo

Edo State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of seven officers of the Nigerian Navy by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in the state.

According to Daily Trust, the the naval officers were abducted by armed bandits while travelling to Delta from Kaduna state on the popular Sapele-Warri road.

A source was quoted saying that the abducted officers from a Naval Base in Kaduna state were on their way to Navy Engineering College, Sapele in Delta state.

Police Rescue Five Abducted Naval Officers In Edo

Edo state police spokesperson, SP. Kotongs Bello, who confirmed the incident, said the command has rescued five of the officers while two others are still missing.

Bello, who didn’t give details of the incident, said the command is working hard to ensure the remaining officers are also rescued unhurt.

“We rescued five and two others are yet to be rescued. That is the one I am aware of,” the police spokesperson said.

 

This comes barely 48 hours after Boko Haram terrorists clamed responsibility for the abduction of two soldiers and Yobe Liaison officer kidnaped on Damaturu/Maiduguri highway on Saturday.
