A police officer has been killed during an attack by unknown gunmen who burnt down a police Divisional headquarters in Arondizuogu in Ideato Local Government Area of Imo state.
It was gathered that the gunmen attacked the police station around 2:00 am on Tuesday and killed one of the police officers on duty
Sources disclosed that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Division was left with a broken head after he was attacked by the gunmen who also vandalized a Sienna vehicle attached to the division and the DPO’s personal car.
The source who pleaded anonymity said, “Gunmen have attacked the Arondizuogu Divisional Police Headquarters. They burnt and killed one of the police officers.
“The attacked at the odd hours and left the DPO with a broken head. They gave him matchet cuts and vandalized his Jeep and a police sienna vehicle belonging to the division.”
When contacted, the police spokesperson for the command, Micheal Abattam, confirmed the attack, adding that the state Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Hussaini, had ordered an investigation into the ugly incident”
