Nigeria Should Reintroduce Cowries, All Naira Notes Added Together Is Less Than $5 – Basketmouth

Nigerian comedian and actor, Bright Okpocha popularly known as Basketmouth, has called on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to reintroduce the use of cowries as legal tender.

Sharing the photos of all Naira notes on his Facebook page, Basketmouth lamented that all the Nigerian currency denominations from N5 to N1000 when added together is less than $5.

He wrote, ”Join all these figures together and it’s still not up to $5 Can we just go back to using cowries already?”
