A Catholic priest, Rev Fr Joseph Shekari has been abducted by bandits who attacked his parish located in Chawai, in the Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
It was gathered that the bandits attacked the parish on Sunday night, kidnapping the priest and killing one of his aides, who was identified as a cook working in the parish house.
The cook was killed when the bandits stormed the parish at 11:30 pm on Sunday.
This comes a few weeks after a 35-year-old pastor in Lagos, Izuchukwu Anoloba, was arrested for allegedly kidnapping a 45-year-old Catholic priest, Fidelis Ekemgba, in Imo State.
The priest, who was double-crossed and whisked away by the pastor and his deadly syndicate, spent about seven days in captivity until N5 million ransom was paid.
