President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mohammed Bello-Koko as the substantive Managing Director for the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
A statement signed on Tuesday by Eric Ojiekwe, Director, Press and Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Transportation, said Bello-Koko’s appointment takes immediate effect.
“Prior to the appointment, Bello-Koko was the Executive Director, Finance and Administration, of the Nigerian Ports Authority,” the statement reads.
Bello-Koko was named acting Managing Director in May 2021 following the suspension of the then MD, Hadiza Bala Usman for alleged corruption-related deeds.
KanyiDaily recalls that President Buhari had suspended Usman based on a recommendation by the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, over the allegation of missing N165 billion.
