Many people have been killed during a shootout between a drug cartel and operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Lagos Island.
In a statement on Saturday, NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi said the operatives were attacked by members of a drug cartel while trying to arrest their boss.
Babafemi read; “NDLEA has arrested a drug kingpin and seized drugs in a notorious drug den on Lagos Island.
“The drug kingpin mobilized members of his cartel to attack men of the NDLEA.
“The operatives were on the Island to arrest the kingpin of the illicit trade before they were resisted and massively attacked’’.
This comes a few days after NDLEA arrested two fast-rising singers, Zinoleesky and Mohbad during a midnight raid on their residence in Lagos.
