A woman claiming to be the mother of the child who was rescued from the delivery box of a Lagos dispatch rider, has exonerated the suspect.
KanyiDaily had published a video showing the moment a dispatch rider was publicly humiliated after he was accused of kidnapping and hiding a baby in his courier box in the Sangotedo area of Lagos State.
In a recent video that has surfaced on social media, the boy’s mother was seen clarifying that the dispatch rider is her child’s uncle and she gave him the boy to him.
The mother insisted the dispatch rider is not a kidnapper as claimed in a video shared by locals who saw him with the child and assumed the worst.
“I’m the one that gave him the baby by myself because I trust him. He is the baby’s uncle,” the child’s mother said.
The development comes amid the outrage over the murder of a 22-year-old fashion designer, Bamise Ayanwole, who went missing after boarding a BRT bus in Lagos.
