Bobrisky Reacts To New Bill Seeking Six-Month Jail Term For Cross Dressers In Nigeria

Nigerian cross-dresser, Bobrisky has taken to social media to question the relevance of the new bill proposed by the House of Representatives to prohibit cross-dressing in the country.

KanyiDaily had reported that the bill sponsored by a lawmaker representing Toro federal constituency of Bauchi state, Muda Lawal, seeks to amend the Same-Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act 2013.

The legislation which passed its first reading at the lower legislative chamber on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, proposes six-month jail term for cross-dressers.

Reacting to the proposed bill on his Twitter page, Bobrisky urged the lawmakers to be fast about passing the piece of legislation, asking if it would finally solve Nigeria’s pressing problems.

He wrote: ”The good thing about this bill is that: 1) it will finally solve Nigeria’s insecurity challenges 2) improve power supply 3) end ASUU strike 4) repair the negative impression foreigners have about Nigeria 5) cause the reduction of prices of items in the market be fast, please.”

KanyiDaily had also reported how two popular crossdressers were sentenced to five years in prison for “attempted homosexuality” and other related offences.
