Wike Held In High Esteem Because He’s PDP’s Jagaban, Man Of Revolution – Atiku

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has opened up about his alleged rift with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.

Atiku and Nyesom Wike

Speaking on Arise Television, the former vice-president described the governor as the Jagaban of the PDP, stressing that he holds him in high esteem because he’s a man of revolution.

Atiku, who disclosed this through the spokesperson of his presidential campaign, Segun Sowunmi, noted that Wike is a straightforward person who says things as they are.

“Wike is our own Jagaban; how do you explain a governor being able to keep other governors in line? One thing you can’t deny him is that he has the ability to say it as it is. He will not bend or colour things.

“Atiku holds Wike in high esteem, time and space may not bring them together, but he does. Wike is a man of revolution; he is one of the totems of PDP,” he said.

Recent activities of the PDP have shown that things are not going well within the party over Atiku’s choice of Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate in the 2023 presidential election at expense of Governor Wike.

There have been speculations that Wike may dump the party after he lost the PDP primaries to Atiku and subsequent picking of Okowa as the vice-presidential candidate.

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom confirmed the PDP crisis when he declared that he won’t support Atiku’s presidential aspiration until he gets God’s approval.

Ortom expressed reservations over Atiku’s decision to name Okowa as his running mate instead of Wike whom the PDP national working committee (NWC) recommended for the position.

The governor, who noted that Wike deserves an explanation on why Okowa was chosen ahead of him, called on Atiku to visit the Rivers governor for reconciliation to end the PDP crisis.

KanyiDaily recalls that Atiku Abubakar had recently broken his silence on the PDP crisis, stressing that actions are being taken to address the aggrieved members.
