The Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, Festus Keyamo said that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu is the best candidate to sell because of his track record in public service.
The minister, who spoke in an interview on Channels TV on Friday night, said the former Lagos governor will run on the template of President Muhammadu Buhari if elected president in 2023.
Keyamo stated this while defending the records of the present administration of President Buhari, which has failed in security and economy.
He said, “There are records that this government has created that we are very proud of. I will not run away from them. This Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has uncanny ability to improve whatever he meets in the office.
“It is the same APC template that both leaders (Buhari and Tinubu) that they will use. I saw one misleading headline from one of the papers yesterday and I laughed.
“It was misleading, misinterpreting what one of our leaders said. That we were distancing ourselves from the records of Buhari. That is utter nonsense. Like I said, we are proud of the record of the APC.”
Keyamo emphasized that Tinubu is proud of Buhari’s achievements, adding that the APC presidential aspirant may however choose to improve on certain aspects of governance “on the same template of progressivism.”
