Abducted Nollywood Actors, Cynthia Okereke And Clemson Cornel Released By Kidnappers

Kidnappers of two Nollywood actors, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel, have released them after they were abducted at a movie location in Enugu State.

Clemson Cornell And Cynthia Okereke Freed

KanyiDaily recalls that the two movie stars were declared missing last Friday after their family members confirmed they didn’t come back from a film location at Ozalla Town in Enugu.

On Saturday, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas revealed that the kidnappers had established contact with the families of the actors and demanded $100,000 to set them free.

However, in a statement on Wednesday night, the AGN Director of Communications, Monalisa Chinda said those who kidnapped Okereke and Clemson were touched by the spirit of God to set them free unharmed.

The statement reads: “This is to gladly inform the public that the kidnapped actors, Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel Agbogidi, have been released unhurt.

“The elated National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ejezie Emeka Rollas announced their release by the abductors who were touched by the spirit of God to set them free and unharmed.

“The Guild has arranged for medical checks and psychological support for the victims.

“On behalf of their families, the National President expressed our heartfelt appreciation to the Nollywood industry and Nigerians at large for the support and prayers during the trying period.

“He urged members to be security conscious on and off film sets and always take precautionary measures on their security at all times.”

The development comes barely 24 hours after Emeka Rollas revealed that the abductors of Cynthia Okereke and Clemson Cornel, mocked him for offering N1.2 million raised as ransom to secure their release.
