The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has condemned a video showing a power-drunk officer beating a man with a machete in the Ekori community of Cross River State.
In the video which has gone viral on social media, the police officer could be seen assaulting a yet-to-be-identified man by hitting him repeatedly with a machete.
The force spokesman, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who condemned the video, said the commissioner of police in the state has been contacted and necessary action will be taken on the incident.
Adejobi tweeted: “Too bad. I will take this up. Whateve his offence, this was uncalled for.. the CP has been contacted and we will take necessary action.”
