The Lagos State Police command says it has arrested popular Nigerian rapper, Ice Prince Zamani for abducting, assaulting and threatening to throw a police officer into the river.
The spokesman of the command, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this in a terse tweet posted on his official twitter handle on Friday morning, September 2.
According to Hundeyin, Ice Prince was stopped by 3am on Friday for driving without license plates.

He said the artiste after agreeing to be taken to the police station, thereafter, “abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him and threatened to throw him in the river.”
The police image maker said the rapper has been arrested and would be arraigned today, Friday.
He wrote, “At 3am today, @Iceprincezamani was stopped for driving without license plates. He agreed to be taken to the station. He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today.”
However, he did not disclose the location of the incident.
Kanyi Daily believes that a comprehensive statement would be issued by the command soon.
Meanwhile, we earlier reported that Nigerian singer, Buju BNXN allegedly assaulted a policeman during an altercation.
In a video that circulated on social media, the 25-year-old singer could be seen shirtless, with just his singlet, arguing and confronting some police officers who blocked his car.
Although it’s not clear what led to the confrontation between the singer and the police officers, Buju took to his Twitter page to brag that he spat in an officer’s face and it felt so good. The police reacting to his tweet revealed that the police force would punish the singer for assaulting the officer.
