Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has increased the number of recently-appointed special assistants on political units from 28,000 to 50,000.
The governor had on Wednesday approved the appointment of 28,000 persons as special assistants for polling units in the state.
But in a statement by his spokesman, Kelvin Ebiri, on Thursday, Wike increased the number to 50,000 without specifying the job of the various advisers.
“Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has reviewed the appointment of Special Assistants on Political Units from 28,000 (Twenty Eight Thousand) to 50,000 (Fifty Thousand),” the statement read.
KanyiDaily recalls that Governor Nyesom Wike said he won’t leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) despite his disagreement with the leadership of the party.
