Patrick Fakoya, popularly known as Rico Swavey, is a Nigerian lawyer, artiste, actor, social media influencer, and reality TV star who was in the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) house during the season 3 edition dubbed ‘Double Wahala’.
The 26-year-old was born in 1993 to the beautiful family of Mr. and Mrs. Fakoya. He’s a Yoruba by ethnicity/tribe, a Southerner by region, Nigerian by nationality, and a Christian by religion.
Rico has about seven siblings, and they were all there for him during his season on the BBNaija show. As things were, growing up was nothing but fun for him.
His alma mater is Babcock University where he studied Law, and upon his graduation, Rico went to work as an artist before the BBNaija show, this was how he made a living.
When you talk about entertainment at its peak in the BBNaija house, Rico should be at the top of the list from his dance steps to his jokes and much more.
Rico, who graduated as a lawyer from Babcock University, started a career as an artist and put out a song called “Afrosantana” and a number of “alternative” Hip Hop tracks.
Music was his career path until after the BBNaija show, he ventured into the Nigerian movie industry where he is known for his role in the “Life 101” drama series.
Rico had described himself as an alternative artiste. He explored his artistic talents in the most famous reality show in Nigeria. He joined BBNaija on 28 January 2018.
His net worth is estimated to be between $300,000 thousand and $600,000 thousand. Swavey is doing well in both the entertainment and legal industries.
On Wednesday, October 12, 2022, the reality TV star’s management announced that he was on life support after being involved in a ghastly accident on Tuesday morning.
Rico’s management also shared a video of the crashed car while calling on the general public to pray for him, adding that “his situation is critical”.
His colleague, Alex Asowgu revealed that she visited the hospital where Rico is getting treatment, adding that doctors are trying to resuscitate him.
BBNaija stars like Tobi Bakre, Leo DaSilva, and Eloswag also took to social media to solicit donations of N30m from the public for Rico’s treatment.
However, Rico Swavey’s death was announced on Thursday morning, October 13, by his colleagues who had launched a fundraiser to facilitate his treatment.
