Popular Nigerian Gospel singer, Frank Edwards has endorsed the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi for the 2023 general election.
Edwards declared his support for Obi in a tweet on his official handle on Monday.
According to him, he will vote for the LP presidential candidate, adding that no matter what happens he will be sure that he tried in “Salvaging NG (Nigeria).”
He lamented that if at such a point people are still dodging events, “what are we still talking about?”.
The gospel singer’s remarks may not be unconnected to the absence of two major presidential candidates at the Arise TV town hall debate on Sunday.
The two presidential candidates are Atiku Abubakar and Bola Tinubu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The candidates in attendance are the flagbearer of the Labour Party, Peter Obi; the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, Rabiu Kwakwanso and the standard bearer of the Peoples Redemption Party, Kola Abiola.
Delta state governor cum vice-presidential candidate of the PDP, Ifeanyi Okowa was in attendance to represent the party’s flagbearer.
“At this point clearly and carefully I will vote Peter Obi. . . No matter what happens at least I’ll be sure I tried to put my thumb of support in salvaging NG. . If at this point ppl are already dodging events! What are we still talking about!!! Abeg Abeg,” Edwards wrote.
