Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki has come under heavy fire on social media after he shared photos from an event he organized for the commissioning of street lights in the state.
Taking to his Twitter page on Saturday, the governor shared photos from the commissioning ceremony, saying his administration is committed to light up Edo.
Obaseki wrote, ”With the commissioning of a 3km streetlights project along Siluko Rd and another 3.3km streetlights along Sapele Rd, in Egor and Ikpoba-Okha LGAs respectively, we have completed the construction of 40km out of the 200km of street lights projects around the greater Benin area.’
“We remain commited to our people that we must light up Edo, and plan on extending the project to cover Iguoriahki, Igwuobazuwa and Okada within the next two years.”
The photos sparked outrage as Nigerians took to his comment section to express their displeasure at the state governor holding a ceremony to commission the street lights.
KanyiDaily recalls that Godwin Obaseki said Nigeria will break up if the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) wins the 2023 presidential election.
