A 30-year-old suspected thief, Wasiu Ajepe has been arrested by the patrol team of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) while robbing the driver and motor boy of a broken down PMS-laden tanker after Ojota Bridge, Ketu inward Berger.
RRS disclosed this in a statement posted on its official Twitter handle on Thursday.
The statement said Ajepe, who was wielding a machete was in the company of two armed others, who are now at large.
According to the statement, Ajepe, who was nabbed at 11: 45 p.m. on Wednesday, is a resident of 21, Taiwo Street, off China Town, Ogudu.
The statement further noted that the suspect has disclosed to be the leader of a clique operating around China Town, MKO Garden, Ojota Bridge, and Motorways at night and dawn.
It added that efforts are on to arrest his two other gang members.
It reads, “At 11: 45 p.m. yesterday, Wasiu Ajepe, 30 years old, wielding a machete, in the company of two armed others (now at large), was arrested by RRS patrol team while robbing the driver and motor boy of a broken down PMS laden tanker after Ojota Bridge, Ketu inward Berger.
“Ajepe, a resident of 21, Taiwo Street, off China Town, Ogudu has disclosed to be the leader of a clique operating around China Town, MKO Garden, Ojota Bridge, and Motorways at night and dawn.
“Efforts are on to arrest his two other gang members.”
