Seven People Killed, Five Abducted As Bandits Attack Sokoto Communities [Photos]

Seven persons have been killed and five others abducted by bandits who attacked some communities in Goronyo and Sabon Birni Local Government Areas of Sokoto State.

It was gathered that the bandits attacked Bare, Kagara, Kojiyo in Goronyo LGA and Faji village in Sabon Birni LGA, killing six persons at Bare and one at Kagara.

The bandits also reportedly broke into shops and looted some assorted goods.

The Chairman of Goronyo local government council, Abdulwahab Goronyo, who confirmed the incident, said the bandits also rustled several livestock in the villages during the attacks which took place on Wednesday around 4 pm.

At Faji village, the bandits were said to have abducted five persons including a man and his two wives. The abducted persons are Alhaji Yusuf, Suwaiba Isa, Dagumi and his two wives.

When contacted, the spokesman for the Sokoto Police Command, DSP Sanusi Abubakar, said he was not briefed about the attacks, but promised to get the details about the incident.

The victims were laid to rest on Thursday, December 1, 2022.

This comes a few weeks after bandits killed two persons and abducted 13 others during an attack in Mamman Suka community of Gwadabawa LGA of Sokoto State.
