Seun Kuti And Peter Okoye Of P-Square Fights Dirty Over Peter Obi [Video]

Peter Okoye of the music group, Psquare, has slammed Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, for criticizing the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

During an interview with ‘TheMicOnPodcast’, Seun argued that no politician can save the country except for Nigerians themselves.

When asked about the candidacy of Peter Obi, the singer described the former Anambra State governor as the internet’s favourite who cannot rescue Nigeria from its current challenges even if he won the election.

Seun, who is the youngest son of the legendary Afrobeat pioneer, Fela Kuti, aslo referred to Obi as “an opportunist” who started a movement after losing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries.

He said, “He (Peter Obi) hasn’t had the time because he started too late. You can’t be telling me that just because you lost PDP primaries 18 months before the election, you suddenly started a movement, and you have a plan for the country.

“No, that’s opportunism. And it’s not an opportunist that will deliver Nigeria—not jumping on Labour Party. The Labour Party has a socialist structure. Peter Obi is a capitalist. Where are they going?”

Peter Okoye Slams Seun Kuti

Reacting to the comment, Okoye said that Seun Kuti has ‘just erased his father’s history’.

He wrote, “Dude just erased his father’s history! You said only the people of Nigeria can save Nigeria! Is PO and the rest of the candidates not the Nigerian people? Shame! Shame!! Shame!!! So disappointed.”

Seun Kuti Attacks Peter Okoye

in an Instagram live session, Kuti slammed Peter and his twin brother, Paul Okoye, over their ‘sudden love’ for the ‘suffering masses and desire for a working system’ in the country.

He knocked the P-Square brothers for campaigning for Peter Obi who he tagged an opportunist with no party structure.

He also argued that P-Square had no right to tell the people who to vote for claiming they had in time past wined and dined with the ‘rich men and politicians’ that have continued to create hardship for the common man.

Reacting to his online venting, Okoye urged Kuti to comport himself and seek intervention from his gods to change his situation.

He also advised the singer to take a cue from his nephew, Made Kuti who he noted was well-guided as well as clean.

Peter wrote: “Dude,I understand your frustration. But realize that the sky is big enough for all birds to fly.

“@burnaboy and other great artistes have climbed on our great Fela’s ladder to blow. Comport your self and pray to your god.

“My God has blessed my destiny & i’ll 4ever remain thankful.

“I’ll surely keep you in my prayers. Learn from your nephew @Madekuti cos he is well guided and clean.”

Seun also slammed Peter for involving his family in their rift, and the letter replied.

KanyiDaily recalls that Peter Okoye, who alongside his twin brother, Paul is a staunch supporter of Peter Obi, had said that nobody can defend the APC, PDP, and not look stupid.
