The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele on Monday afternoon met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja.
Godwin Emefiele, according to reports, arrived at the villa around 1:00 pm.
This was shortly after Buhari returned from the Police Force Headquarters, where he had unveiled some patrol vehicles to be deployed for the upcoming elections earlier on Monday.
According to reports, today’s meeting makes it at least six times Godwin Emefiele has encountered Buhari both privately and in the company of other government officials.
The agenda of the meeting is not known, although it may not be unconnected to the naira scarcity and its attendant effects on Nigerians across the country.
Meanwhile, Kanyi Daily reported that members of the Council of State on Friday backed the naira redesign policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
However, the Council of State members asked the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele to print new naira notes and make them available or recirculate the old notes to cushion the suffering of Nigerians.
